America’s Afghan War Ending? – ITEL – 2.29.20

A surprise announcement came out of Doha, Qatar, as the United States and the Taliban signed an agreement that, in principle, will end America’s longest military failure since the Vietnam War. The document, termed, “Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan”, the document includes huge caveats that would allow the Taliban to bog down American forces for an indefinite period simply by not signing a peace plan with the government in Kabul.
Regardless, any ability for the American people (and Trump) to extricate the United States from an enduring and perpetual failure should be viewed as a net positive, at least on the face of it.
If all works out as signed, the United States would begin removing troops within 135 days and close 5 bases with all US troops removed by 2021. Somehow, one has to wish everyone good luck.
The other US failure, the ongoing shakedown of Syria continues as Russia and Syria seek to eradicate proxy terrorists in the Idlib province of Syria. The effort to bring the Syrian war to a close includes numerous complications, the main being the fact that Turkey has doubled down and is publically stating that her armed forces will face off against both Russia and Syria, if necessary.
With Turkish troops currently dying in Syrian at consistent clips, it appears that Turkey is already well involved in seeking to check Syrian advances.
In hour 3, Fabian Fjälliing. former Swedish media activist, joined to discuss latest observation from China and the ongoing cultural destruction of Sweden by its occupying hostile government.
A good show on a very rare leap year day…
