Idlib, Pounding the Proxies – ITEL – 12.28.19
The year 2019 ended where it pretty much began way back in 2011: the war in Syria rolls on, with the Syrian people, supported by Russia, Iran, and Lebanese Hezbollah, began the long awaited assault on the last remaining Mossad stronghold in Syria, the province of Idlib.
All of these actions come with a reduced US presence in Syria, reduced largely to an occupying force sitting on all important oil fields: I guess the last stand for the Americans defines what this was all about all along anyways which was an attempt to deny Syria of hard currency, any semblance of internal self sufficiency, and perhaps to aid their rulers in Tel Aviv with the wholesale theft of carbon resources rightfully the property of Syria.
And as the Syrian’s launch their final assault on Idlib, a process which, owing to terrain and sheer number of proxy fighters supported by the likes of Turkey, the United States, and who knows who else, Idlib is bound to be bitter fought with Turkey playing prominently as Erdogan’s wishes to establish a pan-Ottoman empire in his own making gets rolled-up before his eyes.
