Paul Craig Roberts – “The Swamp” – ITEL – 7.27.19
Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy under President Ronald Reagan and who has gone onto be one of the more decorated and respected journalists within “the dissident right”, appeared on Inside the Eye – Live! on July 27, 2019. Paul is currently heads up The Institute for Political Economy. His work is widely disseminated across virtually every media platform including print, digital, and electronic media.
The discussion began with some insights of just what politics and Washington are really all about. By design, Washington D.C. is a swamp. Different departments and compartments all vie for a piece of the financial pie doled out by politicians who need no business case to fund whatever venture.
In turn, departments and compartments work for special interest groups who lobby and work to get various departments and compartments funded and so loyalties are not generally placed before the citizens of the United States, but rather people are beholden to the interests of those in the shadows who lobby for and seek to justify funding.
In short, due to the size of Washington, D. C., the result is a deluge of government agencies operating largely without accountability and often without even a case to exist.
This is “the Swamp” and it is here that Presidential policies often go to get stymied and blocked at nearly every turn, provided of course, the Presidential policies run counter to “the Swamp”.
Paul Craig Roberts discussed this issue and how this inherent structural nature of Washington DC impedes not just Presidential policy, but also the wishes of “the people” who supported any given President and handed same a mandate to get certain jobs done.
Another issue discussed was that of the “Neocons” and a foreign policy that is largely in the hands of Jews and Israel, and, to an arguable degree, dual nationals whose loyalties clearly lie more in line with the interests of “the Jewish state”, or Israel, and far less with the interests of the United States and her people.
Quite a bit offered up in this special appearance and well worth a listen.
