Social Media Groups – Honey Traps? – 11.30.19
On a week that saw the passing of Texe Marrs, we discussed the little know reality that various social media “groups” can and often are themselves either run or infiltrated to the point of posing dangers to community members who frequent such sites. In hour 3, we discussed the recent deplatforming of Henrik Palmgren’s “Red Ice Radio/TV” Facebook page.
Regardless of your opinion of Texe Marrs, Marrs was an icon in his field and rose to the pinnacle within his genre of the “conspiracy and truth movement”. He was an avowed old school Christian and this worldview led him to believe that the New Age, a movement that began in the early 80’s, was a precursor and organized plan to “usher in the anti-Christ”.
He probably was blissfully unaware that many who moved on into the New Age did so precisely because in the minds of many, Christianity and its leadership has been thoroughly discredited historically and intellectually.
In hour 2, we discussed a little known reality: social media groups, especially those focused on real social issues like vaccines, public health, home schooling, among others, are often not what they are “cracked-up to be”. People who join these groups have to factor in the risk that these groups are being moderated and managed by those who actually serve the interests of the vaccine industry, wireless industry, medical industry, etc.
What this means is that when people join these groups, they oft do so because of some event in their lives that prompts them to seek out and or share additional information on the subject. The danger arises when those who have quality dissenting information for which they would like to share with the group, but the group itself is managed by the very people whom the dissenting information targets.
Such conditions create a massive security and social risk to persons joining such groups. State that you don’t trust vaccines and wish to avoid having your children get vaccinated may result in a mysterious visit from “child protection services” precisely so these mafias can harm your children.
It can get much worse, including having one’s life turned upside down as corporate mafia interests arrange for gang stalking and harassment operations against people whom they feel threatened by.
The point here is simple: social media group sites may serve as a valuable conduit for acquiring information, but they should also be viewed with suspicion.
In the final hour, the ongoing deplatform saga of the Red Ice franchise entered the discussion as Facebook deleted Red Ice’s Facebook page. The manner in which it was done fit the 2006 blueprint for trolling operations in which fake news is put into print and then the fake news is used to justify whatever action is being taken.
In a way, the methods being used can be viewed across the spectrum. Even the Trump impeachment/Russian collusion nonsense was crafted around one of these fake news style circle jerks.
I could say much more about this but hey…for another day.
