The Fetch @ IDEX 2019 – ITEL PT – 2.21.19
Having just returned from the International Defense Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the Fetch reports on some of the observations at IDEX with a major shout-out to the city of Abu Dhabi as a safe, inviting, professionally managed city where even the taxi drivers are courteous ambassadors for the Emirates.
The International Defense Exhibition and Conference is the largest military shows in the world, with over 100k people converging on Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, for the express purpose of networking and making deals for everything from covert services to state of the art weapons and defense systems.
Having flown in on Sunday night for a two day tour and meet and greet activities at IDEX, “The Fetch” commented at length about how inviting and professionally run the City of Abu Dhabi truly is, with wide, open streets, virtually no pollution or trash lying on the streets, well manicured gardening along roadways, and, at least during winter, refreshing air.
Being on Persian/Arabian Gulf, there are plenty of locations for relaxing next to calm bays ideal for rowing and sailing. What was perhaps the most impressive element of the trip was the professionalism of the taxi service operators and their drivers who, being partially employed by the government, proved to be private ambassadors for the Emirates, providing a welcoming, professional service.
Within IDEX itself, there were ample opportunities to meet business development and engineering support members from Europe, N. America, Asia, South East Asia, the Middle East, as well as a few companies from S. America and S. Africa.
Every content save Central America was represented. Of note was the proliferation of companies having drone offerings.
The Fetch’s presence at such a prestigious show hints at the international expertise and insights that The Fetch brings to Inside the Eye – Live! and Inside the Eye – Live! Prime Time!
In hour 2, Fabian Fjälling, a citizen journalist from the defunct Investigate Sweden, joined to discuss the descent of Sweden into a state of national insanity.
